Liposuction
Tumescent Liposuction
All procedures are performed in the office using local anesthesia and are remarkably safe with few significant side effects. Dr. Gross uses the tumescent technique where areas of excess fat are injected with a large amount of anesthetic liquid before liposuction is performed. The diluted solution usually contains a local anesthetic and a drug called epinephrine to shrink capillaries and minimize blood loss. The liquid causes the compartments of fat to become swollen and firm making it easy for the liposuction cannula to travel smoothly beneath the skin as the fat is removed.
Tumescent liposuction using local anesthesia offers the benefits of fewer skin irregularities, less bleeding, reduced bruising, and a faster recovery.
Liposuction of the Upper & Lower Abdomen, Waist, Flanks, and Lower Back
Most people carry their weight in their midsection. Even with good eating habits and exercise, weight reduction in this area can be difficult. Abdominal liposuction can help.
The procedure takes approximately 2-4 hours depending on location. With the use of tumescent anesthesia, the procedure is essentially painless and down time is minimal. The incisions are extremely small and hidden in inconspicuous areas of the body.
You will need someone to drive you home after the procedure. It is best to take it easy for a few days. You will be instructed to wear a compression garment for about 4 to 6 weeks to insure proper healing.
Abdomen & Love Handles
Liposuction to this area of the body can have the most dramatic change to your body shape. The goal is to produce the best improved cosmetic result with less downtime and discomfort. Final results are usually seen 2-4 months post operatively.
