For the person who wants a “refresh”, with no heat or chemicals, we recommend Microneedling. It is a great treatment option for most skin types and is particularly good for enlarged pores, mild scars, acne scars, and wrinkles.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that creates millions of controlled microchannels in the skin. These microchannels stimulate the skin’s natural healing response, and jump starts the production of collagen and elastin. Working from the inside out, the skin is rejuvenated, and can continue for months following your treatment.
What do you use for Microneedling?
I use the SkinPen device for Microneedling, and it is FDA approved for use on the skin. I particularly like it for the face, jawline, and neck. SkinPen allows the aesthetician to customize treatment depth, targeting different areas with specific settings.
What is the Microneedling process?
The routine for Microneedling is simple. When you come arrive for your appointment, we will begin by cleaning then numbing the skin. This will be followed by the Microneedling procedure. Post procedure, we apply a specific hydrating mask and moisturizer. It is very important to keep the skin hydrated and calm, and we provide special products for the first 24 to 48 hours. You may feel and look as if you have a mild sunburn, so soothing moisture is key.
Your treatment plan will be tailored to your specific skin and needs. The Microneedling procedure can also be customized with additional treatments such as PRP. Typically, individuals will need three treatments for the desired results. Numbing + treatment are usually 60-90 minutes and involve minimal discomfort.
